High powder content in fertilizer granules produced by organic fertilizer production lines

2025/10/16

The main reasons for high powder content in fertilizer granules produced by organic fertilizer produciton lines are as follows:

1. Raw materials: If the raw materials are too fine after grinding, although the viscosity increases, it can easily lead to oversized or irregular particles, which in turn affects the quality of the pellets and increases the powder content. On the other hand, if the particles are too coarse, they are difficult to mix and form, which also increases the powder content. Excessive fiber, impurities, or unsuitable ingredients in the organic fertilizer raw materials can affect the granulation effect, resulting in insufficient granule strength and easy breakage into powder.

2. Granulator malfunction or improper selection: The performance and parameters of the organic fertilizer granualtor are crucial to granulation. Severe wear of the granulator's rollers, die plates, and other components, or if the equipment is not suitable for the raw material characteristics, will result in poor granulation and increased powder content.

3. Screening equipment with damaged screens or insufficient screening accuracy cannot effectively separate unqualified powder, resulting in a high powder content. 4. Process: Insufficient mixing and uneven mixing of ingredients during the mixing process can lead to uneven granule quality during granulation, with some granules lacking strength and breaking into powder. During the drying process, excessively high temperatures or prolonged drying times can cause the granule surface to dry quickly while the internal moisture cannot fully evaporate, resulting in a loose internal structure, reduced strength, and increased granularity. Conversely, insufficient drying can also lead to insufficient granule strength, which can also increase the powder content.

5. Insufficient cooling: Excessively rapid or uneven cooling can cause internal stress in the granules, weakening their strength and making them more susceptible to breakage.
