What materials are compatible with flat die pellet mill for organic fertilizers?

2025/12/13

The core materials compatible with flat die pellet mill for organic fertilizers are high-fiber, high-moisture organic raw materials, especially suitable for processing materials that are difficult to agglomerate or require uniform granulation.  These can be divided into three main categories, covering the production scenarios of mainstream bio organic fertilizer produciton lines:

1. Core Basic Organic Materials (Best Compatibility)

• Livestock and poultry manure: chicken manure, cow manure, sheep manure, pig manure (requires pre-treatment to a moisture content of 50%-60%, better after fermentation and composting)

• Straws: corn stalks, wheat stalks, rice stalks (requires crushing to 20-40 mesh, mixed with manure to adjust cohesiveness)

• Residues: distiller's grains, brewer's grains, vinegar residue, soybean residue, pharmaceutical residue (moisture content controlled at 55%-65%, can be directly granulated)

2. Auxiliary Filling/Nutritional Materials (Requires mixing with basic materials)

• Oilseed cakes: soybean cake, peanut cake, cottonseed cake (10%-30% after crushing, improves granule nutrients)

• Organic waste: kitchen waste (fermented and composted, impurities removed), sawdust (adjusts moisture and porosity)

• Functional materials: humic acid, amino acid residue (5%-15%, needs to be thoroughly mixed with basic materials to avoid clumping)

3. Incompatible/Materials Requiring Special Treatment

• Pure dry powder materials: such as unfermented dry chicken manure, pure humic acid powder (requires additional water spraying to adjust moisture to over 50%)

• Highly viscous materials: such as pure sludge, sugar residue (requires adding coarse fiber materials such as straw powder and sawdust to reduce viscosity)

• Large, uncrushed materials: any raw materials with a particle size exceeding 1cm (must be processed by a crusher to below 40 mesh first)
