Solutions to Excessive Dust Generation from Organic Fertilizer Ball Shaping Machines

2026/04/25

Excessive dust generation during the production of organic fertilizer ball shaping machines not only pollutes the workshop environment but also causes raw material loss and shortens equipment lifespan. Solutions can be implemented comprehensively through three aspects: sealing modifications, dust collection system upgrades, and process adjustments.

First, ensure the equipment is fully sealed; this is the foundation of dust control. Install a flexible canvas connection and dustproof curtain at the rounding machine's feed inlet to prevent dust from overflowing during feeding. Replace the cylinder cover with a fully sealed cover plate, and install rubber sealing strips on the inspection port, ensuring it is closed promptly when not in use. The shaft ends of the cylinder are prone to dust leakage; upgrade to labyrinth seals combined with felt oil seals to prevent dust from escaping through gaps. Regularly inspect the wear of seals and replace worn parts promptly. Avoid leaving the discharge port open; install a sealed chute to transfer material to the next process, reducing dust generated by material falling.

Second, install dust collection equipment to remove dust at its source. Dust collection and suction vents are installed at the feed end, discharge end, and upper part of the cylinder of the pelletizing machine, and centrally connected to a pulse bag filter dust collector. The appropriate airflow is matched according to the size of the equipment to effectively remove dust without removing too much fine material that could affect pellet formation. For larger-scale bio-organic fertilizer produciton lines, a central dust collection system can be connected for unified dust removal across the entire production line.

Finally, optimize the production process to reduce dust at its source. Control the moisture content of the material before pelletizing to 18%-22%. Too low a moisture content can easily generate dry dust. Appropriate atomized water can be added before feeding to reduce dust and promote pellet formation. Simultaneously, stabilize the feeding speed to avoid material splashing and dust generation due to excessive feeding speed. During daily production, promptly clean up accumulated material around the equipment to prevent secondary dust generation. Combine this with a workshop spray dust suppression device to further improve the production environment.
