Sri Lanka Chicken Manure Aerobic Fermentation Site: Large-Span Rotary Compost Turner and Bottom Oxygen Supply System Positioned

On November 20, 2025, at a livestock waste treatment workshop in Sri Lanka, the core integrated trough-type turning and oxygen supply system for the aerobic fermentation project of high-nitrogen, high-moisture chicken manure has completed the positioning of the main equipment and component assembly. Unlike conventional small-scale turning equipment, this process combination forms a highly rational "upper and lower linkage" in terms of physical mechanics and gas transmission.

I. Large Wheel Compost Turner Main Unit

Figure 1 shows a large wheel compost turner spanning a concrete fermentation tank. The drive motor and cables are mounted on the top of its giant, light green main beam. The core working component suspended from the beam is a pair of high-strength vertical rotary discs, with sharp, toothed turning blades densely distributed on the outer edge of the discs.

In actual chicken manure fermentation, due to the high content of undigested protein and moisture in chicken manure, the material easily clumps together and has extremely poor air permeability. This large-disc compost turner utilizes a crossbeam moving longitudinally along tracks at both ends of the trough. Accompanied by the high-speed rotation of the disc, it powerfully grabs, disperses, and breaks up the chicken manure material 1-2 meters deep within the trough, completely breaking up the material's compaction at a physical level.

II. Independent External Forced Ventilation and Oxygen Supply System

Figure 2 shows another key piece of equipment配套 with the compost turner—an independent bottom oxygen supply unit. This system mainly consists of a blue Roots blower (or high-pressure centrifugal blower), vertically and horizontally arranged blue flange pipes, and area control valves. It is currently installed on the hardened ground next to a red brick wall.

In large-scale chicken manure composting troughs, simply relying on machine turning can only solve the oxygen exchange problem in the surface and middle layers. The bottom layer of chicken manure material is easily compacted by its own weight, leading to anaerobic fermentation and producing large amounts of ammonia and foul odors. This blue blower unit is designed to connect to the microporous aeration system at the bottom of the fermentation tank. The forced pressure from the blower continuously forces fresh air directly into the bottom of the chicken manure pile.

III. Gas-Solid Coupling Processing Logic The turner handles the physical function of "breaking up the upper layers and expanding the surface," while the blower system provides the gas for "deep oxygenation." Both work in tandem via a PLC control system, creating a highly efficient aerobic fermentation space. In Sri Lanka's hot climate, the chicken manure pile can rapidly heat to over 60°C, effectively killing insect eggs and pathogens, and forcibly evaporating moisture.

The on-site assembly and positioning of the entire system is nearing completion, and the pipe connections have been pre-installed. The purely process-oriented structural design enables this system to effectively treat high-concentration livestock and poultry manure.
