Adjustment of the Scraper Device in an Organic Fertilizer Disc Granulator Machine

2026/05/28

The scraper is a key component in an organic fertilizer disc granulator machine preventing sticking to the disc, regulating the material layer, and ensuring granulation quality. Adjustment must follow the principle of static calibration during shutdown and dynamic fine-tuning during operation, with safety as the top priority.

Before debugging, be sure to shut down the machine, disconnect the power, and lock the equipment. First, adjust the gap between the scraper and the bottom of the disc. The standard is controlled at 3-5 mm. Too large a gap will cause material to clump on the disc, resulting in uneven particle size; too small a gap will accelerate wear between the scraper and the disc surface, producing abnormal noise. The gap should be uniformly calibrated around the circumference using the support bolts. Next, adjust the scraper tilt angle. The standard setting is 15°-25°, tilting in the direction of disc rotation. Too large an angle will disrupt the material's tumbling state, affecting pelleting; too small an angle will result in incomplete cleaning and material sticking to the disc. Simultaneously, control the insertion depth; the front end of the scraper should extend into the material area to about one-third of the disc diameter.

Perform a no-load test run to confirm that the scraper is free from jamming and friction, and that a thin layer of material remains on the disc surface, indicating a normal state. During production with material, make minor adjustments as needed: for large areas of material adhesion, reduce the gap and increase the tilt angle; for a large number of large particles, appropriately raise the scraper and slow down the angle to break up material clumps; for material accumulation on the edge of the disc, adjust the gap of the auxiliary side scraper to 2-3 mm.

The equipment comes in different scraper types. Simple fixed scrapers only require adjusting the height gap; combined scrapers must ensure that the main and auxiliary scrapers do not interfere with each other; oscillating scrapers must have a margin of error and should not be locked in place. Regularly check the scraper wear; replace them promptly after rounding the cutting edges. Clean the remaining material from the gaps after each machine shutdown. After replacing the scraper, be sure to recalibrate the parameters to extend the service life of the bio-organic fertilizer produciton line and stabilize granulation quality.
