The double screws compost turning machine is the main equipment for windrow fermentation of organic fertilizer. It utilizes a double helix auger structure to complete the entire process of turning, aeration, mixing, and dehumidification. The process is simple and flexible, and it is widely used in small and medium-sized organic fertilizer plants, planting bases, and livestock and poultry farm manure treatment.
Before fermentation, the raw material ratio is determined by mixing organic materials such as livestock and poultry manure, straw, and mushroom residue, adjusting the moisture content to 55%–65%, adding fermentation bacteria as needed, and then thoroughly mixing and piling the mixture into long strip-shaped piles. The height and width of the piles are adapted to the operating range of the equipment.
Fermentation is divided into three stages. In the heating stage, the material naturally begins fermentation. When the temperature rises above 45℃, the double helix compost turner is activated. This compost production machine relies on the rotation of two sets of helical shafts to push and disperse the material, breaking the sealed layer of the pile, supplementing oxygen, and expelling ammonia and water vapor, promoting rapid microbial reproduction. During the high-temperature stage, the material temperature is maintained at 55–65℃, with regular turning and tossing. This kills insect eggs and harmful bacteria, achieving harmless treatment, and prevents localized anaerobic fermentation and acidification. During the cooling and maturation stage, the frequency of turning and tossing is gradually reduced, allowing the material to cool slowly and undergo nutrient conversion until complete maturation.
The machine's double-spiral structure provides a wide mixing range and strong dispersing ability, eliminating dead corners in the material pile and ensuring uniform mixing. The entire process eliminates the need for a dedicated fermentation tank, maximizing site utilization and reducing investment costs. During production, the turning and tossing intervals need to be adjusted flexibly according to air and material temperatures. Rain and moisture protection measures should be taken during rainy days to prevent excessive moisture content. The fermented material has a uniform color and loose texture, and can be directly processed into crushing, granulation, and packaging steps. The overall process is seamless and easy to maintain.
