Raw Material Adaptability of Double Roller Press Granulators

Double roller press granulators utilize a room-temperature dry granulation process, relying on physical extrusion molding. They eliminate the need for water, binders, and drying processes, making them adaptable to a wide range of raw materials. They are maturely applied in industries such as compound fertilizer, organic fertilizer, chemicals, and feed. This equipment is friendly to dry powdery materials, particularly suitable for conventional fertilizer raw materials such as NPK compound fertilizers, blended fertilizers, urea, ammonium chloride, ammonium sulfate, and potash fertilizers. It produces high granulation rates, high granule hardness, and uniform appearance, making it a commonly used model in NPK compound fertilizer produciton lines.

Fermented, pulverized, and dried organic fertilizers, bio-organic fertilizers, and organic-inorganic compound fertilizers can also be stably granulated, meeting the needs of green fertilizer production, provided that moisture and fineness are properly controlled. Furthermore, inorganic powders such as calcium carbonate, bentonite, talc, and mineral powder, as well as various dry powder feed raw materials, can all be extruded using roller extrusion molding, making it suitable for diverse applications.

However, this machine has specific requirements regarding the state of the raw materials. It is not suitable for materials with excessively high moisture content; generally, the moisture content needs to be controlled below 10%, otherwise problems such as roller sticking, incomplete granulation, and machine blockage may occur. Raw materials with excessive viscosity, high gum content, or excessively long fibers have poor direct extrusion effects and require dilution with auxiliary materials or pretreatment. Completely non-adhesive ultrafine dust tends to loosen after extrusion, requiring the addition of a small amount of suitable additives to improve the molding effect.

Overall, the double-roller extrusion granulator is most adaptable to dry, free-flowing powders with a certain degree of self-adhesion. With proper raw material pretreatment, stable production is possible. It is an energy-efficient, highly effective, and versatile organic fertilizer dry granualtor.
