In organic fertilizer fermentation production, double screws compost turning machines are core equipment for ensuring full fermentation and improving fertilizer efficiency. If the material is too wet or sticky, it will not only severely affect the fermentation effect but also cause multiple problems for equipment operation, production efficiency, and product quality, directly increasing production costs.
Wet and sticky materials significantly reduce permeability, leading to insufficient oxygen inside the compost pile. This causes a shift from aerobic to anaerobic fermentation, producing a pungent odor. The compost pile heats up slowly or not at all, failing to effectivezhonly kill pathogens, insect eggs, and weed seeds, resulting in incomplete fermentation and a significant decrease in fertilizer efficiency. Furthermore, sticky and wet materials are prone to clumping and uneven fermentation, easily leading to undercooked or unfermented products. Secondary fermentation may also occur later, causing problems such as seedling burn and bag bloating, reducing the pass rate of organic fertilizer.
For double-spiral compost turners, wet, sticky materials adhere tightly to the spiral blades and shaft, forming thick clumps. This results in weak turning, poor dispersion, and a sharp increase in equipment load, easily leading to malfunctions such as excessive current, tripping, motor burnout, chain breakage, and shaft damage. Sticky materials also cause slippage and material entrapment in the machine's walking mechanism, leading to deviation, machine jamming, and frequent shutdowns for cleaning, increasing labor intensity and significantly reducing operational efficiency.
Furthermore, sticky materials accelerate corrosion and wear on blades, frames, and other components, shortening equipment lifespan and increasing maintenance costs. Inadequate fermentation also affects subsequent processes such as crushing, screening, granulation, and packaging, slowing down the entire production line.
Therefore, when using a double-spiral compost turner, it is crucial to strictly control the material moisture content to avoid excessive moisture and stickiness, ensuring fermentation quality, stable equipment operation, and efficient and smooth production.
